DEFIANCE CITY SCHOOLS is seeking 25-30 community members/parents willing to serve on a committee to provide VISIONARY PLANNING for the new GRADE 6-12 SCHOOL BUILDING.
Visionary sessions will be conducted by Frank Locker, a former Harvard professor and registered architect who has worked on nearly 140 school construction projects in America and abroad. Committee members are asked to participate in three planning workshops being held on Thursday, OCTOBER 9TH; Friday, OCTOBER 10TH; AND Monday, OCTOBER 20TH. Each session is expected to last from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Participation requires attendance at ALL THREE sessions in their entirety.
Members of the committee will review the current and future needs of the Defiance City School District; explore coming innovations in education and the requirements of schools in the 21st century; and define what the community wants in its school to help guide choices in building elements, design features, conceptual uses of interior and exterior spaces, architectural styles, building materials and more.
